How Much Real Estate Commission?

You might think that real estate agents only earn commissions on sales, but there are other factors that affect how much money you’ll make. For example, you could earn a higher percentage for selling homes in high demand areas, or you could earn less for selling homes in low demand areas.

The Average Agent Earns $200K Per Year.

According to the National Association of REALTORS®, the average annual income for a licensed real estate agent is $200,000. This includes both commission and non-commission earnings.

That’s Not All – There Are Other Bonuses.

In addition to earning money through commissions, agents also receive bonuses based on the number of transactions they complete. These bonuses range from $1,500 to $10,000 per transaction. Agents who sell more than $2 million worth of property each year can earn up to $50,000 in bonuses.

The Average Agent Commissions.

According to the National Association of REALTORS®, the average commission earned by a licensed real estate agent is 6% of the sales price. This means that the typical home sold for $200,000 would generate $12,000 in commission. However, some agents earn higher commissions because they work with high-end properties or charge higher fees.
